New Habour facility in Sanur, Bali
Sanur has traditionally been the stopping-off point for short-stay tourist trips to Nusa Penida, Lembogan and Cennigan, but that has meant getting your feet wet since there is just a sandy beach. Getting off the boat upon your return can be a fall into the water with your heavy backpack or luggage.
That should end in Dec 2022 when the new port facility comes online and is opened, and passengers will no longer get their feet wet walking through the swell to clamber aboard a boat. In the future they will have a nice new ticket office, a cafe with a roof, and the ability to step across to a boat that is not moving in the swell.
This helps elderly travellers and children, whereas at the moment most of the travellers tend to be young
backpackers. It is long overdue and should increase tourist numbers to the islands, hut hard during the pandemic.
